I’m trying to make this pear tart recipe and it calls for raisins. I cannot stand raisins, does anyone know a good substitute or what berries in general go well with pears?

I have been picking blueberries all summer. I have several pounds frozen to use this winter. I have made pies, jam, and smooties. There are still plenty of berries on the bushes to be had. What to do with them?
I”m thinking of using a muffen mix which has a can of very, very small bluebarries in the box. I want to put fresh berries in and wondered if it would alter the recipe any because of of the difference in volume?
Thistle weeds are coming up in my yard and around my blueberry bushes. I want to get rid of them, especially around the blueberry bushes but I want to use something that won’t harm us to eat the berries when the berries ripen (the berries are not full ripened yet). Any suggestions?
